Hon. Dombo Pays Courtesy Call On PS/SJ

Earlier today, Hon. Emmanuel Lumala Dombo, the Director of Information and Publicity at the NRM Secretariat, paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, Dr. Pius Bigirimana.
Highlighting the purpose of the visit, Hon. Dombo observed that he wanted to appreciate the Judiciary's transformation journey first hand for purposes of documentation.
Emphasizing some of the achievements of the Judiciary to his guest, the Permanent Secretary took count of some of the success stories that included the completion of the construction of the new Supreme Court and Court of Appeal buildings, the steps taken in the automation of court processes including the implementation and rollout plans for the Electronic Court Case Management Information System and Video Conferencing Facility, as well as improved case management using Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms.
Dr. Bigirimana further observed that from the time he assumed office as the Accounting Officer in 2019, he has ensured effective utilization of resources that have been made available to the Judiciary.
He reiterated his commitment to support case backlog elimination strategies, infrastructural development - including building of more courthouses, automation of courts and improved welfare of staff.
The host later led his guest on a guided tour of the Supreme Court building where Hon. Dombo was shown the court halls, childcare centre, conference hall, gym, sauna and massage parlor.
Hon. Dombo commended Dr. Bigirimana for being result-oriented and for leaving a lasting legacy wherever he has served.
He urged him to share his best practices with other Ministries, Departments and Agencies so that the same can be emulated.
Dr. Bigirimana also told his guest that the Top Management of the Judiciary led by the Chief Justice, Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny - Dollo has been instrumental in transforming the institution.
Present during the tour of the Supreme Court were HW Harriet Ssali, Registrar Supreme Court, and Ag. Commissioner Engineering and Technical Services, Eng Priscilla Nakiboneka.
